The Sutton Trust Better Apprenticeships Summit on Monday 2nd July 2018 forms part of our Better Apprenticeships campaign. The event brings together apprentices, academics, industry and policy experts to discuss how we can harness apprenticeships as a driver of social mobility.
Best in Class 2018, held in partnership with Carnegie Corporation in New York, brings together leading policy-makers, academics and the teaching professions to discuss the role of structural reform, accountability, professional development and the use of research in schools in improving social mobility.
We organised a major summit to look at social mobility today and in the future on 12 July, 2017. Speakers included the Education Secretary, Justine Greening as well as leading academics and policymakers. New polling and research were commissioned for the event.
On 12 July 2016, the Sutton Trust held an Academies summit in partnership with the Education Policy Institute and Kings College London. The summit brought together key players from the government and education sector, together with other policy makers and academics to evaluate and reflect on the academies programme.
On 9th March 2016, the Sutton Trust, in partnership with the Carnegie Corporation of New York, held a Best in Class Summit bringing together leading policy-makers, academics and the teaching profession.
The Sutton Trust hosted its first annual Post-16 Teachers’ Widening Participation conference on 25th January 2016. The conference brought together members of Senior Leadership, Heads of Sixth Form and UCAS coordinators working in challenging state schools across the UK, as well as a number of representatives from leading universities.
