The Mirror covered new Sutton Trust research into poor bright underachieving boys

Pupils who achieve at primary school are more than twice as likely to miss out on top GCSEs if they are from disadvantaged homes, a survey revealed today.

Education charity Sutton Trust found 36% of boys and 24% of girls went from being in the top 10% at 11 to failing to make the best 25% at 16.
