English students graduate with more than double the debt of Americans, a survey reveals.
They owe £44,000 on average compared with US public university graduates who owe £20,500 despite doing four years instead of three.
Students in Canada graduate £15,000 in debt on average, Australia £20,090 and New Zealand £23,300, the Sutton Trust found.
