On September 17th 2015 the IPPR published a report called Saturdays for success: How supplementary education can support pupils from all backgrounds to flourish. The report makes recommendations for how more pupils, schools and communities can gain from the rich, extracurricular learning environments that these ‘supplementary schools’ offer. The Sutton Trust and the EEF were cited several times in the report.

This follows a Centre Forum report published in July on raising school standards, recommending to extend the concept of ‘whole child’ education and making more extensive use of schools and their resources as part of a community education service  “beacons of individual and institutional transformation at the heart of the local communities they serve”. The report cited the Sutton Trust / EEF Teaching and Learning Toolkit.

Also that month Amy Finch, Reform’s insightful education lead, mentioned the Sutton Trust’s Chain Effects in a blog discussing whether academy chains could help solve the workload challenge.
