Commenting on today’s OFFA guidance for 2014-15 university access agreements, Sir Peter Lampl, chair of the Sutton Trust and of the Education Endowment Foundation said:

OFFA is right to urge universities to start working with pupils younger than age 14 to build their morale and motivation to succeed. Unless young people are engaged early on, they can miss out on the chance to fulfil their potential.

The Sutton Trust supports a number of programmes for younger low and middle income pupils.

We are also working with Durham University on a toolkit of what works in university access and looking to work with universities to bring coordination and coherence to an increasingly fractured landscape of activities.
