During a debate on the Welfare Reform and Work Bill which, among other things, legislates for the government to report its progress on how its meeting its target to create 3 million apprenticeships, the Sutton Trust was mentioned. Conservative Peer Lord Hodgson, who led the review of the Charities Act during the last parliament, praised the “admirable” commitment to create 3 million apprenticeships but referred to the Sutton Trust when he raised concerns that quality standards may be compromised in the pursuit of quantity.
