Tory MP hopefuls are maintaining the party’s tradition of private education, with 49% attending fee-paying schools, new research reveals.

The study by the Sutton Trust, which promotes social mobility by education, looked at the backgrounds of 200 prospective parliamentary candidates with a reasonable chance of winning at the General Election.
