Sir Peter Lampl, founder of the Sutton Trust and Chairman of the Education Endowment Foundation (EEF), has announced the appointment of Anna Williams as the Sutton Trust’s new Director of Communications, Research and Advocacy.

Anna joins the Sutton Trust having previously worked at the BBC for 20 years most recently as Head of News for BBC World News. Prior to joining the BBC, she held positions on CNN’s London and Moscow desks.

Sir Peter said:

“I am delighted that Anna is joining the Sutton Trust as our new Director of Communications, Research and Advocacy.

“The interface between communications, research and policy is crucial to the Trust and we will benefit greatly from Anna’s extensive experience.  Anna’s appointment follows that of James Turner as CEO and we enter 2019 in a very strong position.”

Anna said:

“I am thrilled to be joining the Sutton Trust.  Improving social mobility needs to be more than just a catchphrase and the work of the Sutton Trust is vital to tackling the very real barriers to social mobility.”
