Writing for The Mirror, Mark Ellis reported on new Sutton Trust findings regarding the educational backgrounds of teachers.

Record numbers of top graduates are teaching in state secondary schools, but private schools are still getting more high-fliers, a study shows today.

Nearly 11,000 state secondary school teachers have a degree from Oxford or Cambridge – more than double the number 12 years ago.

But research by the education charity, the Sutton Trust, shows there’s still a significant difference between state and private schools when it comes to teachers’ qualifications.
