Creating a High Aspiration Culture for Young People in the UK

Research study undertaken by Ipsos MORI and funded in partnership with HM Treasury which examines parents' aspirations for themselves and their children through a series of surveys and focus groups. The research shows that expectations - in terms of likely career outcomes and qualifications - are strongly linked to class, with parents from lower social groups being more likely to believe their child will leave education at 16 and end up in a job that does not reflect their abilities and interests.
