Eleanor Harding reported for the Daily Mail on our research with Prime into leading lawyers

Three quarters of top judges and 70 per cent of QCs have benefited from a private school education, a new study has found.

The Sutton Trust analysis found these high-fliers in the legal profession were ten times more likely than the general population to have gone to an independent school.

Across the UK as a whole, only 7 per cent attend independent schools.

Meanwhile, 74 per cent of top judges attended Oxbridge, as did 78 per cent of top QCs and 55 per cent of top solicitors.
